1. Compare Views
Toggle easily between comparison view types (all, different, matching) by clicking on these 3 icons.
2. Change Modes
Switch between Text, Binary, and Folder modes on the toolbar.
3. Tile Preference
View comparison results tiled either horizontally or vertically depending on your preference.
4. Configuration
Enhanced in v4.00 The Configuration settings have been centralized in the new configuration dialog making it easier than ever to customize UltraCompare to suit your preference.
5. Execute Profile
New in v3.50 UltraCompare now offers user profiles which allow you to set options such as paths, output options, ignore options, etc and execute them when needed. Use this time saving feature for your frequent compare operations to enhance the ease of use offered by UltraCompare
6. View Next/Prev Difference
Navigate quickly between differences by clicking on the "Go To Next Difference" and "Go To Previous Difference". This feature will prove to be indispensible.
7. UltraEdit/UEStudio '05 Compatibility
UltraCompare works hand in hand with UltraEdit and UEStudio '05. Easily jump into UltraEdit/UEStudio for modifications and back to UltraCompare with the click of a button.
8. Show File in Browser
New in v4.00 Open your files in the default application with a click of a button. This is a convenient feature when you need to preview your changes before saving the file
9. Merge Toolbar
These powerful merge options allow the user to merge selected content before or after the current block.
New in v4.00 Accept All, or merge all, changes with a single click.
10. Display Type
Choose the display type you would like the file to be viewed as. Note, this does not convert the file, only the format in which it is displayed.
11. View Pane
Enhanced in v3.50 This text block contains differences and is easily denoted by the light blue shading. You may customize the colors that UltraCompare uses to distinguish differences. Individual character differences are also displayed by user defined colors. Active line is highlighed as a separate color to distinguish the line you have selected.

12. Relational Lines Mode
New in v3.50 A powerful visual effect to help you see, at a glance, where your corresponding difference blocks are located in each file pane. Relational lines can be toggled on/off in the View menu.
13. Context Menu
For your convenience, right clicking gives you quick access to such frequently used functions as Merge, Delete line, etc.
Enhanced in v4.00 Clipboard support allowing you to copy multiple contiguous selected lines to the clipboard.
14. Graphical Navigation
Visual representation of differences within the compare. Quickly navigate to differences in the file by clicking in the area you want to view.
15. Bookmarks
Set apart items of interest for easy future reference. When doing a text compare you can bookmark one or multiple lines.
16. Compare Pane Merge
Click on these icons to merge differences left or right. Note, this is also available in the context menu and on the toolbar.
17. Differences Display
New in v3.50 Enhancements to the visual representation of differences within the file compare panes. The solid blue line indicates there is a missing line from the file on the left (compared to the file on the right).
18. Active Line Compare Frame
For lines that extend beyond the view frame, use the Active Line Compare Frame to isolate lines and clearly see the character differences. You will find this feature especially useful for long lines

19. Status Bar
View the difference summary. In the screenshot above, in the first pair of files there are 61 blocks with differences.
Enhanced in v3.50 The output/reporting capabilities have been enhanced including command line reporting capabilities. Also the difference summary (in the View menu) is integrated with the clipboard.

Shell Integration: This makes using UltraCompare easier than ever. Right click, in Explorer, on the files you want to compare and then launch UltraCompare all from within Windows Explorer.
Show Spaces/Tabs: If you need to know what whitespace characters are in your files, turn on the Show Spaces/Tabs in the View menu. |
